It was all a Tacoma boy could want, but it wasn’t enough for long. Jim Valley made the one-in-10,000 odds jump and went from garage band to lead guitarist for one of the country’s most popular acts – Paul Revere and the Raiders.

At the pinnacle of his success, Valley walked away and at one point found himself working for the railroad.
The long trek back to enjoying his own music began in the Tacoma School District and would take him around the world, performing for and with children.
